Graphic Organizer

Here is my graphic organizer.

There are many types of technology that has many applications in education that is not being used in classrooms of today. Skype, face book and other web 2.0 applications have many great applications but are rarely used in education.  According to Siemen instead of viewing distance as a barrier to education, realize that it can be the conduit that allows rich interaction and growth, where academic growth can be achieved with a diverse set of learning tools. The three major factors that influence the flow and growth of distance education is communication, collaboration and content.  When viewed as a graphic organizer the interaction between them are obvious.  Information that can easily be shared with wikki’s is easily placed in both content and communication categories. This integration of concepts and tools are the keys to the continued growth of DE and innovative ways of changing the pedagogy of education.

I enjoyed your graphic organizer and the way you showed the overlap between the different areas. Did you consider color coding your graphic organizer?

  2. Where does assessment fit into the concept of "CCC"? Don't we need assessment to engage learners and promote interaction? I liked the simplicity of your graphic organizer design.

  3. Lamont,

Simplicity in design! I love it! The overlap between content/communication/collaboration is a great insight and one I think that can be difficult to separate out from the different types of tools and activities available on the Internet. How do you propose that K-12 use Facebook and other typically banned sites as a way to the three Cs? I can see higher ed and training implementing them more readily. Your thoughts?
