Elements of Distance Education Diffusion

Collaborative interactions between people, business and educational institutions have gradually changed as technological advancements have adjusted the way we communicate.  The development of the World Wide Web has provided a medium for the development of emails, face book, twitter and other advancements that has revolutionized the way people interact with each other.  Instead of long distance phone calls to family or business partners, we are able to use Skype, and other resources to actively collaborate with each other.  This improvement has also allowed distance education to transform from correspondence courses to interactive learning that is separated by time, and geography.
I believe that distance education will continue to ride the tide of technological advancement as it becomes more readily accepted and respected in academia and the business world.  As Mr. Siemens point out, the development and needs of the government, business and academic institutions will facilitate the continued growth and respect for distance education.
